LCCC Presents:  Ben Cosgrove

Thursday, July 5  7 pm

Ben Cosgrove is a traveling composer-performer whose instrumental music is inspired by landscape, place, and ecology. Ben's 2017 album "Salt," which compares feelings of ungroundedness and confusion to landscapes of flux and ambiguity in northern New England, was described by Seven Days as a "majestic entry into the composer's catalog... replete with near-imperceptible embellishments and forward-thinking concepts." Junction Magazine called the album "a poetry of tones and turns and motion and play that transcends the gross signification of everyday language," and Red Line Roots has deemed it one of the best releases of the year to date. In 2017-18, Ben served as the artist-in-residence with the New England Trail -- a National Scenic Trail connecting New Hampshire to Long Island Sound.  He has also held residencies and fellowships at Acadia National Park, Isle Royale National Park, the Schmidt Ocean Institute, and the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology, and he spent a year as the artist in residence at White Mountain National Forest in New Hampshire and Maine.

Tickets $18 in advance/$20 at the door/$10 youth. LCCC members get $2 off.
