Irish Set Dance Workshop, Céilí, Concert & Session with Colúr

Step into the music, meet new friends, and experience the joy of Irish social dancing.

Join Colúr for an afternoon and evening of Irish set dancing, live music, and community in Lincoln City.

Irish set dancing is one of Ireland's great social traditions—a lively, welcoming form of group dancing rooted in community, music, and connection. Danced in sets of four couples, the dances are energetic, social, and accessible to dancers of all experience levels.

The afternoon will begin with a set dance workshop led by Maldon Meehan, introducing participants to the figures, rhythms, and traditions of Irish set dancing. No partner or previous experience is required. New dancers are especially welcome.

Following the workshop, we'll put what we've learned into practice with a céilí featuring live music from Colúr at 6 p.m. More experienced dancers will find plenty to enjoy, while newcomers can jump in and learn as they go.

Then at 7 p.m., we'll settle in to listen to Colúr. Blending spirited tunes, traditional songs, rich harmonies, stories from the tradition, and expressive dance, Colúr offers a performance that is both deeply rooted and warmly inviting. The trio's performances highlight the connections between music, song, rhythm, and community, creating an experience that appeals to longtime lovers of Irish traditional arts and newcomers alike.
Autumn Rhodes and Ben Roberts are accomplished singers and multi-instrumentalists, while Maldon Meehan is an internationally recognized dancer, musician, and teacher known for her work in Irish sean-nós dance, set dance, and old-style step dance. Together they bring a vibrant and engaging celebration of Ireland's living traditions.

We'll finish the evening with an informal Irish session, inviting musicians, dancers, and listeners to gather, share tunes, and enjoy the company.
