The Lincoln City Cultural Center’s Fiber Arts Studio Gallery is pleased to host a new show entitled “Creative Wearables” by a subgroup of fiber artists from the Portland based Columbia Fiber Arts Guild.

The show will begin with a opening reception on Friday, January 6th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, and will run through March 19th.

Creative Wearables members are passionate about their craft and dedicated to the concept of making functional, wearable, artistic clothing and accessories to enjoy and share in our daily lives. Their aim is to connect, inspire, and educate others about the skill, craft and creative fun that making clothing can be.

This exhibit features selections from sewing challenges ranging from skirts making a statement about the designer’s life, challenges, and achievements, garments designed and sewn using silk from donated wedding dresses, and pieces made from recycled and reconstructed garments

“Methaphor on Marriage” and “Upcycled/Reused” are some of the themes of the challenges presented to the members of this group.

The Fiber Arts Studio is open Thursdays – Sundays, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM. LCCC is located at 540 NE Hwy 101, Lincoln City, OR. 97367.
